1) Performance improvement experience
Emmanuel has a valuable proven track record and to improve profit line for large international clients at Sodexo's.
This speciality and the growing passion to improve bottom line performance came when he successfully turned around a low profit performance into a performance that met the budgeted target within one year and exceeded budget the second and the following years.
Emmanuel was in charge to manage the Facility management budget for a large pharmaceutical company client. His clients gave their Facility Management budget with the contractual clause to reduce it by 20% over 5 years and increase operational performance measured by KPIs.
As a global finance director and with the global account director, they were the owners of the P&L performance. He had large autonomy to drive savings across all clients sites internationally with Sodexo and client’s teams.
It was a first experience for Sodexo to manage such international contracts and they suffered a very difficult start with large increasing pressure from the client (KPIs not met and savings not delivered), Sodexo group (scrutiny :impairment test, audit… this contract was considered as an experiment for Sodexo group to decide further potential investment in this line of business).
It was a huge victory for his client, the team and Emmanuel.
From this intense experience and pleasure to win this challenging match, Emmanuel knew that I wanted to carry on driving clients to improve their bottom-line performance.
Then specialised in difficult contract, he spent few following years to run other challenging international contracts with the objective to improve profit line.
Each time, he exceeded the targeted budget.
In addition to this turnaround activity, Emmanuel, during this time, as a global finance director, ran and managed these contracts and its full controlling activities:
2) Financial due diligence
Emmanuel has also an enjoyable and strong experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Transactions Services at Paris office, in advising corporate, private-equity clients in a wide range of deals across a broad spectrum of sectors to highlight on risks on their transactions.
These advises were supported by robust financial due diligence, analysing net financial debt, normative working capital, quality of earnings, profitability structure, business plan sensitivities of the targeted companies.

3) Equity valuation
Emmanuel also carried out equity valuations for small and medium size industrial clients.
These valuations were mainly used to prepare and support legal and accounting operations (transfer of assets, acquisition of targeted companies).

Internal audit assignments were based on consultancy approach, consisted of working in a team of 3 or 4 for 2 weeks in the field for
The consultancy approach consisted in assessing all local processes (finance, payroll, HR, operations, supply chain etc) through interviews and documents checks, comparing with standards; identifying critical gaps and proposing a remediation plan with redesigned processes to strengthen internal controls in collaboration with stakeholders.
The outcome was a written audit report, discussed with Sodexo group line management up to the Sodexo president, and all remediations plans were followed up until full implementation.
